I’ve been slowly working on a crocheted afghan the past few months. My parents gifted me with a card to Jo-Ann’s which I used to order the yarn for this blanket . I was going to make it a year ago, but due to a problem with Jo-Ann’s web site not accepting gift cards it never happened until this year. I ordered twice as much yarn as it calls for as I wanted it, at least, throw size.
I also stuck with the colors they used in their pattern. I loved the mix. A friend recently commented that it reminded her of the seventies with the gold yarn thrown in to the mix.
I started by crocheting up one full skein of the yarn to see how many granny squares I could get out of it. When I started it a few months ago we were having off and on storms. I would grab my skein of yarn and some books whenever the sun would come out.
Their pattern called for 12 of each color for the baby sized blanket. Since I was wanting something larger I kept crocheting past the twelve and ended up with sixteen squares from one skein. I was super pleased!
It’s been slow going since then. I enjoy pulling it out to work on while watching a movie with my family. That is, when I remember to pull it out
Three rows down, thirteen more to go! Can I just say, weaving in ends is my least favorite part of knitting and crocheting.

That’s so pretty!
Can’t wait to see your finished blanket! And I agree, weaving in the ends is not my favorite part either…
Oooooh! It’s great!
