Looking out the window this morning I saw this.

Look out the window behind the Christmas Cactus and the Sycamore branches, see the blue?

Now we did have some rain yesterday evening, and it may have rained a little bit more early this morning.

However, it was not raining at nine this morning when these were taken.

Nope, not a drop!

He’s got a little Gene Kelly umbrella twirling going on in this one.

Oh, silly me, of course he’s not dancing, no, he’s swinging the umbrella at the chickens.

Seconds after this one was taken he spotted me on the back porch.  I wish I would have caught the look of shock on his face.

He knew he was safe though, I hate the chickens as much as he does.

After clearing the path of vicious, man eating chickens he went about his chores of scrubbing the sheep water buckets.

Okay Mom, so now that you know you can’t be upset with him, right???

There were a lot of contenders this year.  They came from all walks of life and every color scheme.

En garde!

As they slowly circled round the ring it became obvious this round would see no winners.

Corin’s pretty pink one merely swelled and my yellow one exploded open, bummer dude!

Round two ended with Corin showing me some marshmallow fluff on the end of her toothpick.  She claims it happened during combat, I think it happened as she took the pick out of the nuking oven.

Round three took place over the remains of the combatants of round two.  Eeeeeewww!!!

Round and round and round they go!

Still no obvious winners here…

These guys were HUGE!!!

This was my final fighter (see the black belt?).

Okay, so this guy lost, and he lost bad!  He was stabbed brutally by my sisters Peep, somehow I didn’t get a picture of this, at least not one that wasn’t terribly fuzzy.

This makes Corin the champion for two years running, woo-hoo for her!

Things I have discovered today

1. Ree’s apple dumplings should only be eaten once a year, at MOST!!!  Those things are really good, but super rich.  We had some left over from our dinner last night, that I reheated for my parents and I.  One bite and the rest went into the trash, ugh those things are so rich!

2.  I hate the last three Star Wars made, which are technically the first three.  My brother just bought the last of the three and is watching it even as I type.  It is the ultimate in cheesiness, I tend to laugh through it which really bugs my brother, so I’m sitting in the other room blogging.  I must say though, hearing my youngest brothers comments and questions throughout the movie does make it more interesting.  Such as, “Why does that guy shoot laser beams out of his hands?”  GOOD QUESTION!!!

3.  To some extent I like the three original Star Wars movies.  My sister and I used to watch these together, maybe it is the memories, maybe it is just that the cheesy special effects fit in better with the movies back then, I don’t know.

4.  If you wait until the Friday before Easter to buy candy all that is left at “Mahmark” are chocolate crosses and candy no one has every heard of.  If you dig though you can come up with some Cadbury chocolate eggs.  Don’t worry Corin (and all my other readers) Peep Wars will return this year!!!  I know you all were concerned about this, stay tuned, this years competition is shaping up nicely.

5. That Jo-Ann’s is a very dangerous place for me to browse through, maybe I should start leaving my wallet in the van?

6.  That if you say “EAT MORE CHICKEN!” at a Chick-Fil-A they give you a stuffed cow.  Thanks go to my sister for sharing this very important fact with me.

7. That I will be awake until sometime early tomorrow morning due to the amount of caffeine I have had today.  Aaaaah, life is good.

8.  That when I am super tired and trying to remember which Adams the biography I’m about to read is about, it would NOT be Samuel Adams John, JOHN Adams!

9.  That I must have some pretty faithful forgiving kind readers who bear with me, my faults, my ill writing and my craziness.  Thank you, and happy Easter to you!!!
